Brothers fighting brothers, a country imploding itself, the world can be an antithesis of what auspicious big t it is today. A country segregated by sexuality, race, religious beliefs, and school is that good Union? Simply by empathizing while using injustices the Union features committed towards black community, Green preemptively dismisses the crowd's potential argument and establishes a common ground to build upon after in his conversation. Likewise, Green mention's that " the brave deeds of our fathers… have did not bring us recognition” which quickly refutes the near future argument the Brethren have sacrificed all their share and establishes the idea that it's to the blacks of this era to create " honor” and " glory” to the African American competition. After acknowledging the mistreatment the Union has devoted to the free and enslaved blacks, Green emphasizes that joining the war up against the South will certainly " enhance the present auspicious moment creating anew [the brethren's]...
